No mês de março o Professor Dr. Christian Müller, da Technische Universität Chemnitz - Alemanha, apresentará palestra sobre SMART MATERIALS FOR SMART SENSORS, cujo resumo segue abaixo:
Nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene and combinations of them show outstanding electrical, mechanical and optical properties which are promising for sensor applications. With these nanomaterials large-area as well as structured flexible films can be prepared in order to use them as strain gauges, pressure sensors, and optical sensors. In addition, with less than 1% filler material conductive nanomaterial/polymer composites can be fabricated. Another concept for the development of multifunctional nanomaterials is based on rolled-up nanomembranes. Top-down techniques combined with strain engineering has been employed to transform such two-dimensional (2D) layers into compact three-dimensional (3D) architectures. This approach has shown to be suitable for the development of versatile on chip devices of customized size and geometry synergetically combining magnetic, electronic, optical and fluidic functions. Here, recent developments of multifunctional materials including carbon nanomaterials and flexible magnetic nanomembranes towards next generation sensors are highlighted. In addition, an overview of our activities will be given.
